Mainland promotion and facilitation

The Tanzania Investment Centre promotes investment on the mainland and helps investors through a certificate and aftercare. It does not replace the revenue authority, land offices, BRELA, or a sector regulator. Read the current mandate at https://www.tic.go.tz.

What TIC does not decide

  1. 1 Company registration Incorporation and business names stay with BRELA.
  2. 2 Tax Taxpayer numbers, VAT, and tax clearance stay with the revenue authority.
  3. 3 Zanzibar A mainland certificate does not by itself authorise a project in Zanzibar.
